from North Korea – date of origin uncertain, maybe an old work –
coloured embroidery on fabric, handmade, stretched on wooden frame, size 45,3 x 30 cm.

I received this picture in the 90s directly from North Korea. At that time the country was still isolated and only exceptionally accessible to Western visitors; contacts were made through the embassy in East Berlin, in the context of an commercial exchange.
